Prayer Needed...

A friend of mine was killed instantly in a car crash. She was on a trip with her husband in Maine. They were both in the car when her husband lost control on the snowy road and began sliding sideways. Their car was struck on the passenger side where she was sitting.

She has 3 children with whom DH & I have worked in various children's ministries. The 2 boys are especially sweet. Her daughter went through a very rebellious time, but by God's grace turned her life back to the Lord.

I am not thrilled that these kids are left with their father. He's very unstable and self-centered. He made his wife's life miserable. At least now she will be eternally happy. THANK GOD she was a born again believer!!! She was such a great encourager. She was one of those people who wrote beautiful notes that always seemed to come in your mailbox when you needed them most. I just hurt so much f0r her kids. I'm really hoping that their father will give them to the grandparents. They are really wonderful people and would be so loving to the kids. They did a great job raising the kids' Mom! I'm sure they would do the same for their grandchildren. They raised 13 kids of their own, so they have plenty of experience!

I know I sound judgmental about their father, but there are just so many facts about him that I know but don't wish to share. Just pray f0r her 3 kids. They are all in their teen years.

This is my 2nd friend to be killed in a car crash instantly in the past 9 months. It's so unbelievable! It's sad, but I'm so thankful they didn't suffer. God is even merciful in death.

Lost...

I am so heartbroken! A few days ago we went out to return a some things. I put my wedding rings on just before we left. I hadn't been wearing them because I was so swollen from the steroid treatments. I missed wearing them & was so excited when my hubby was able to slip them right on my finger.

Somewhere between my bedroom & Kohl's they slipped off my finger! I didn't even feel it! I still have little use of my hands & very little feeling in them. We were in line to get DD a dress that was on clearance when she said to me, "Mommy, weren't you wearing your rings?" To say I freaked out would be an understatement! We searched that place from top to bottom...I obviously took the bottom since I was in my wheelchair. No luck. We keep calling Kohl's in hopes that someone finds it & turns it in.

It wasn't very valuable monetarily, but it's sentimental value is priceless. DH designed it himself. He had to use a smaller diamond because it's all he could afford, but I loved it! I remember the first time he slipped the engagement ring on my finger. I remember when the matching wedding band was slipped on -- I had to wipe the tears from his eyes with my great-grandmother's handkerchief. Everyone in the church kept giggling because of it. I just can't believe the rings are gone!

I guess I should just be thankful they were insured. I'd much rather have them back then replace them, though.

I know they are only "things" and I shouldn't hold them too tightly. We should hold our possessions with an open hand instead of a clenched fist. When our hands are tightly closed God has to pry them open to place a blessing inside.

Maybe I'm just overly sentimental. Maybe I'm just so stinkin' tired. Maybe my meds have finally taken over my sense of reasoning. I don't know. I just can't st0p crying.

Of course, the "up side" to all of this is that DD has been doing her school work without trying to find a way out of it each day LOL. She has such a big heart. She keeps searching the house for my rings. I told her I'd give her a dime if she found them. She said, "Hey, you used to give me a dollar!" I replied, "Haven't you heard that we are in a recession? The dime IS the new dollar!"

She did not think I was as funny as I did. Oh well.

(I can't believe how long it takes to type with 1 finger!!!)

I'm Still Here...

Wish I were here to post that I'm completely better. I'm better than I was. I'm still unable to walk, so I've decided to go ahead and name my wheelchair since we spend all our awake time together. Any ideas??? She's a girl; boys annoy her.

I'm typing with one finger. I'm getting faster at it. This has only taken 15 minutes so far. Not too bad.

I'm not sure about treatment...finding out 2 people have died recently from "complications" involving this drug has caused us to pause & seek God's direction more. I don't know about you, but I find death a bit more than a complication! I'm not afraid to die because I KNOW where I'll be spending eternity thanks to Christ...but I do have a DD I'd like to be around to raise! I truly believe God led us this direction. I'm sure He has a reason for all of this. It's a mystery right now; perhaps He does want me to do this treatment. I just need to seek His face more. Until I'm able to walk the length of a football field this treatment is on hold anyway, so God's given us time to seek His will.

Thanks, Bobbi, for singing even when I'm not around! You & Denise are the best blog friends ever!!! I also should thank Bobbi for unintentionally introducing me to JellyPages. DD & I have wasted all afternoon playing with their templates. :0)

Until later,
Stacey

(Wow! Did I have a lot of typing errors! LOL!)
