Sunday Sing-Along

I was thinking about what happened in Haiti this week... specifically I was thinking of one of the little girls who was in my wedding. She grew up and had a wedding of her own a little over a year ago. Her husband left for Haiti on a mission trip and arrived there 2 days prior to the devastation.

Here she is, a very young newlywed, who had just moved a few thousand miles away from all of her family and friends with her hubby. (He got a good job in a church, and so they packed up and moved far away. He's one of those audio/visual geniuses.) They just bought their first home and are in the middle of fixing it up. She was all alone in that house when she heard the news about Haiti. She couldn't reach her husband by phone. What she could do was pray and reach out to her praying friends/family... and wait.

I can't even imagine how afraid I would be if I were in her shoes!!! PRAISE GOD her husband is all right!!! God protected him and his mission team! And guess how he got news to his young bride? FACEBOOK! Of all places! He couldn't make a phone call, but could navigate Facebook from his cell. The first thing he did was write on his young bride's wall to let her know that he would get home to her beautiful smiling face as soon as he could.

Her husband got safely home TODAY!!! God is so GOOD!!!

So, Stacey, (did I ever tell you how much I love your name?) this song is dedicated to you!!! My sweet former piano student who needed to remember to practice every day and not just for 10 minutes before coming to her lesson! ;) I love you, kiddo! GOD IS IN CONTROL!!!!
