I've been thinking of my Dad a lot lately. I miss him so much, but I know how happy he is now in the presence of our Lord! I really hate that poem that they use at many funerals/memorials now. It says, "If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to Heaven and bring you home again." As much as I miss my Daddy, there's no way I'd want to bring him down to this miserable earth from the Glory of Heaven!!! How selfish would that be?! Of course, I understand that they are hurting. This is just my humble opinion.
Anyway, my Dad was a very traditional church music kind of guy. However, he loved this song once I introduced it to him. He asked that it be sung at his Celebration of Life service.
I'm just really missing him today.

My mom has been gone for 25 years. It still hurts-now more than ever. I understand. I love you!
I'm so sorry that you're missing your dad so much, Stacey.
Love, love, love this song...
Hugs,
Denise
